Welcome to Zilker Park!

The crown jewel of the neighborhood (and really the whole city) is Barton Springs Pool, which is located just a couple of blocks from all of our properties. The water is spring-fed and refreshing at 68 degrees year-round. There's no better way to beat the summer heat and enjoy an invigorating plunge. The pool is situated in Zilker Park, which has a large playscape, disc-golf, botanical gardens, nature and science center, miniature train, picnic areas, live-theater performances, snack bar, kayak/canoe rentals (click for coupon!), and large grassy expanses that are open to public use.  

You can also access much of Austin via the Hike and Bike Trails (click for map) that go around Lady Bird Lake...which we know is not a river....it's actually the Colorado River. The trails are great because you can hop on a bike or on foot and walk all the way to downtown without ever having to walk on a sidewalk or street.

Another huge draw for the neighborhood is the Barton Creek Greenbelt, which is a 8-mile expanse of natural terrain, trails, and creeks that offer fabulous hiking, mountain-biking, swimming and rock climbing. There are various entrances throughout the neighborhood but the main entrance is just behind Barton Springs Pool. 

The Zilker HIllside Theater is a true gem. Throughout the year they put on incredible live performances, which include a year Shakespeare play, summer musical, and other great performances. Bring a blanket, a bottle of wine, picnic dinner, and enjoy the shows, all FREE!
